I needed somewhere to put the things I normally keep to myself.

Jay-K Musik became that place.

Behind the mask, I’m still trying to stay level-headed while pride, grief, temptation, anxiety, and survival pull me different ways.

Why the mask

The mask isn’t a costume, and it isn’t here to make me mysterious. It takes the judgment out of the room long enough for me to tell the truth.

The Pool House is where I put the thoughts I don’t know what to do with.

I’m not trying to have one moment and disappear. I want to make enough music that somebody can keep finding a piece of themselves in it.
